Authority - meaning and illustration

relevant authority means—

(a)a charter fishing licence; or

(b)an authority, other than a primary commercial fishing licence or commercial fisher licence, that authorises the holder of the authority to—

• (i)take or possess fish for trade or commerce; or
• (ii)use a boat to take or possess fish for trade or commerce.

relevant authority means any of the following—

• (a)an aquaculture licence;
• (b)an approval, under section 114 of the unamended Act, to build a waterway barrier works;
• (c)a permit to perform works or related activity in a declared fish habitat area;
• (d)a permit to remove, destroy or damage marine plants.

authority means a licence, permit, quota authority, resource allocation authority, aquaculture authority or other authority issued, and in force, under this Act.

"authorization" means permission granted to fishers to access a marine fisheries resource in accordance with the Act;
