Fish Aggregating Device | fad - meaning and illustration

"fish aggregating device" includes a man-made or partly man-made floating or semi-submerged device, or directly placed natural materials, whether anchored or not, intended for the purpose of aggregating fish, and a natural floating object on which a device has been placed to facilitate its location;

"fish aggregating device" means any device which attracts fish to a common place to make them easily caught;

“fish aggregating device” or “FAD” —

(a)           means an object or group of objects of any size, whether drifting, anchored, floating, submerged, deployed and tracked or not, that may be a permanent, semi-permanent or temporary object, structure or device of any material, man- made, natural or a combination of both, for the purpose of aggregating target species for capture; and

(b)          includes any natural floating object on which associated electronic equipment has been placed to facilitate its location;
